During the present project the consortium will:

  • increase their staff and trainers knowledge on food waste management and its impact on the environment
  • increase their preparation on circular economy is used to manage food waste and ‘closing the loop’ and turning community in sustainable and better organized entities
  • prepare an empowerment program using the food industry and its waste management sector as a concrete example to foster youth ability to understand the importance of not wasting (any) resources
  • Enhance youth educators and youth workers’ ability to offer tailored services to NEETs and help them increase their skills by participating in the FOODY EU program
  • test the program with a selected group of young people gaining also active support by local key stakeholders (farmers, food waste managers, policy makers at the local level, and experts in circular economy…)
  • Validate the project’s results with the target groups and key actors
  • Boost the sustainability, exploitation and transferability of the results by actively informing and involving local and regional stakeholders during and after the project lifetime.

FOOD-Y EU is an Erasmus Plus Cooperation partnership in Youth between Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, Spain, and Cyprus to promote circular economy and food waste management among NEET youth, supporting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
